What is Hand Analysis?

Share/Bookmark

Hand analysis investigates the relationship between the universe, the small universe and the “whole message of life”.  Hand analysis is one of the methods of visual diagnosis in Chinese medicine.  To diagnose with palm lines and fortunetelling are entirely different. The former determines the status within the body by analyzing the changes of the palm lines.  Fortunetelling is using the changes of palm lines to predict the future.  These are two different areas.

Chinese hand analysis originated two thousand years ago.  In “The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine,” it elaborates on the viewpoint of how by observing the physical body surface including the hand, one can determine the status of the internal organs and further diagnose specific illnesses for the person.
In the 1970s, American scholars revealed the principle behind using palm print, heredity, and disease to diagnose an illness called dermatoglyphics.
The main theory behind hand analysis is bioholography.  For every organism, the message of each specific area will reflect the life message of the whole organism.  Therefore, the nails, palm lines, the whole palm form a one-to-one relationship with the life message of the internal organs in the whole body.
The palm is the most reflective of the red flags of the internal organs within the body.  The palm is the intersection between the three yang meridians and the three yin meridians of the hand.  Altogether, there are six channels through which vital energy circulate and have a very close relationship with the internal organs. Therefore, the physiological and pathological changes within the body can be transmitted through the meridians and the acupuncture points to the different parts of the hand.
From the perspective of modern medicine, there is an inseparable relationship among the nerves, blood vessels, each internal organ and the center of the cerebrum.  What is presently known is that the human body as it projects within the cerebral cortex resembles the shape of an inversion of the embryo.  The proportion of the hand in this projection is very large. It occupies about 4/5of the entire projection.
There is a saying that the ten fingers are connected to the heart.  This heart should include each center of the cerebrum and the internal organs.  The specificity and the regularity with the various pain sensation of the acupuncture points and the change (or the response) to the form of the palm, form the scientific basis behind visual diagnosis.
When our body consciousness is sensitive, our body starts to have certain reactions when influenced by the information and what is about to happen in the future.  The hand is like an antenna receiving and reacting towards various kinds of information.  It’s difficult to detect when things are minute and have less influence; but when there is energy with significant influence towards the energy of the human body, we will be able to detect this from our hand.  Just like when the leaves of a plant are dry, people will think that the root is lacking water and will supply water.  The hand is like the leaves.  Since the blood loops are rich with dense microcycles and centralized peripheral nerves, the hand is very sensitive with over 1,500,000 nerve endings and blood vessels.
The ending minute blood vessels of the different areas of the fingers and palms, the color deterioration, distortion and inflation of the surface may well reflect the corresponding area and the supply condition of energy and blood in the internal organs.  The blood flow condition of the end tip of the nails will especially reflect the problems of blood supply in the heart.
Since people are so busy and stressful with work in our society nowadays, many people cannot even detect if there are illnesses.  Only when the situation gets worse enough, people will then try to seek medical help, but often it is too late.    Thus, it is very important to diagnose illnesses early.  Observing the changes in the hand symptoms is one of the most simple and effective way for early diagnosis.
Observing the hand is one of the most simple and practical ways to understand a person.  Not only can you understand the health conditions of a person, but his/her personality as well.  The most significant characteristic and meaning of hand analysis is that it is simple, intuitive, economical and practical; it can diagnose illnesses early and it is easy to promote.

Share/Bookmark

Whether An Egg Is Fresh or Not?

An Fresh Egg
How do you know whether an egg is fresh or not?
When eating hot pot, some people would either put the evv directly into the pot or use it with Sha Cha as a sauce.
The important point is that if the egg is fresh, it will be delicious, if it's not fresh, you might end up going to the emergency room.
There are two ways of discerning whether an egg is fresh or not:
1. Observe whether the surface is bumpy and/or rough; the more the fresher.  On the contrary, the smoother it is the less fresh it would be.
2. When you soak the egg in cold water, if the egg is....
* .... laying flat, it is fresh.
* .... tilted in the water, the egg is 3-5 days old.
* .... floating on the water, the egg is spoiled.

Lantern Festival

Share/Bookmark

The Lantern Festival or Yuan Xiao Festival (simplified Chinese元宵节traditional Chinese元宵節pinyinYuánxiāojié) orShang Yuan Festival (simplified Chinese上元节traditional Chinese上元節pinyinShàngyuánjié) in China is a festival celebrated on the fifteenth day of the first month in the lunisolar year in the Chinese calendar, the last day of the lunisolar Chinese New Yearcelebration. It is not to be confused with the Mid-Autumn Festival, which is sometimes also known as the "Lantern Festival" in locations such as Singapore and Malaysia. During the Lantern Festival, children go out at night to temples carrying paper lanternsand solve riddles on the lanterns (simplified Chinese猜灯谜traditional Chinese猜燈謎pinyincāidēngmí). It officially ends theChinese New Year celebrations.
In ancient times, the lanterns were fairly simple, for only the emperor and noblemen had large ornate ones; in modern times, lanterns have been embellished with many complex designs. For example, lanterns are now often made in shapes of animals.
In some region and countries, this festival is also regarded as the Chinese version of St. Valentine's Day, a day celebrating love and affection between lovers in Chinese tradition and culture.
Young people were chaperoned in the streets in hopes of finding love. Matchmakers acted busily in hopes of pairing couples. The brightest lanterns were symbolic of good luck and hope. As time has passed, the festival no longer has such implications.
Those who do not carry lanterns often enjoy watching informal lantern parades. In addition to eating tangyuan (simplified Chinese汤圆traditional Chinese湯圓;pinyintāngyuán), another popular activity at this festival is guessing lantern riddles (which became part of the festival during the Tang Dynasty), which often contain messages of good fortune, family reunion, abundant harvest, prosperity and love.
Until the Sui Dynasty in the sixth century, Emperor Yangdi invited envoys from other countries to China to see the colorful lighted lanterns and enjoy the gala performances.
By the beginning of the Tang Dynasty in the seventh century, the lantern displays would last three days. The emperor also lifted the curfew, allowing the people to enjoy the festive lanterns day and night. It is not difficult to find Chinese poems which describe this happy scene.
In the Song Dynasty, the festival was celebrated for five days and the activities began to spread to many of the big cities in China. Colorful glass and even jade were used to make lanterns, with figures from folk tales painted on the lanterns.
However, the largest Lantern Festival celebration took place in the early part of the 15th century. The festivities continued for ten days. Emperor Chengzu had the downtown area set aside as a center for displaying the lanterns. Even today, there is a place in Beijing called Dengshikou. In Chinesedeng means lantern and shi is market. The area became a market where lanterns were sold during the day. In the evening, the local people would go there to see the beautiful lighted lanterns on display.
Today, the displaying of lanterns is still a major event on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month throughout China. Chengdu in Southwest China's Sichuan Province, for example, holds a lantern fair each year in Culture Park. During the Lantern Festival, the park is a virtual ocean of lanterns. Many new designs attract large numbers of visitors. The most eye-catching lantern is the Dragon Pole. This is a lantern in the shape of a golden dragon, spiraling up a 27-meter-high pole, spewing fireworks from its mouth. Cities such as Hangzhou and Shanghai have adopted electric and neon lanterns, which can often be seen beside their traditional paper or wooden counterparts.
